Want to raise a puppy who’s confident, well-mannered, and a joy to be around? My puppy lessons set you and your furry friend up for success, ensuring a smooth journey from adorable chaos to a happy, well-adjusted adult dog.
Puppies are adorable, playful, and sometimes a little overwhelming! These early months are crucial for building their confidence, teaching good manners, and creating a strong bond between you and your new best friend.
Whether this is your first puppy or your fifth, my goal is to make these first steps together enjoyable, educational, and stress-free - for both of you.
As your puppy coach, I’m here to make sure you and your puppy get off on the right paw. My Puppy course is designed to guide you through this exciting (and sometimes chaotic) phase with expert advice tailored to your puppy’s needs. From house training to socialisation and everything in between, I will teach you the most important skills your puppy needs for a lifetime of happiness and good behaviour.
The course is structured into five lessons of 1 hour each:
During and in between the lessons, you are welcome to ask any questions you may have and to clarify any of your doubts.
To start the Puppy course, the dog needs to be between 2 and 6 months old. Ideally the first lesson would be within a few days after the adoption. Lesson 2 will take place once the dog is fully vaccinated. Lessons 1 to 4 will be spread out over a period of roughly 12 to 16 weeks (but it may be shorter depending on the puppy's age at the start of the course). Lesson 5 will take place during puberty.
The meeting point in the Amsterdamse Bos is Parkeerplaats Duizendmeterweg.
Training a puppy is about more than just teaching commands - it’s about building trust and understanding how dogs learn. My methods are based on positive reinforcement, which means rewarding good behavior to encourage more of it.
Every puppy is different, and so are the challenges they bring. I take a customised approach, considering your puppy’s breed, personality, and unique quirks, while ensuring the training fits into your lifestyle.
Consistency, patience, and plenty of encouragement are at the heart of my approach. Puppies thrive when their owners feel confident, so I’ll empower you with the knowledge and tools to handle any puppy-sized curveballs that come your way.
The first lesson takes place at home. This lesson focuses on establishing daily routines for feeding, play, and rest; crate training and house training techniques to prevent accidents; encouraging independence to avoid future separation anxiety; addressing common issues like chewing or jumping.
Lessons 2, 3 and 4 will take place at the Amsterdamse Bos, where we will introduce your puppy to new sights, sounds, and experiences. Here your puppy will walk off leash, socialise with other dogs, learn how to keep track of where you are, learn to ignore joggers, cyclists and other people, and come back when you call.
This lesson also takes place at the Amsterdamse Bos, and it will be scheduled when your puppy hits puberty and there is a relapse in their behaviour. This is the last lesson, after which you and your puppy will receive a diploma!
